Underwater acoustic wireless communication using TCP/IP

Acoustic communication through water is a phenomenon well known among numerous sea creatures, such as whales, dolphins, and other cetaceans. Crustaceans and fish also partake in this type of communication with sound. However, the origin of this aquatic communication dates back to the time of Leonardo da Vinci, who first described an acoustic listening technique in 1490, although modern-day active sonar methods are vastly more sophisticated than his passive technique.

The conversation between sea creatures often functions as a powerful form of communication, as well as a way to locate prey and navigate. Different creatures produce and receive different types of sounds based upon the nature of their environment. As technology advances, further research on underwater acoustics can be explored, as well as its potential applications in the field of communications and navigation.
